“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41

When Jesus came and met the disciples sleeping, He took note of the fact that their spirits were willing but their fleshes were weak. That means that they really wanted to pray but they were tired. This is very instructive. Effective prayer is the mutual act of both the spirit and the body. You cannot pray effectively when there is disconnect between your spirit and your flesh. Prayer originates from the spirit through the mouth which is in the body. So when your spirit is willing and the body is weak, prayer has no route of expression; when the body is willing but the spirit is low, prayer will lack the required force and coordination. Both need to be willing and ready at the same time for better effect.

As we enter the season of prayer, it is important that as your spirit is willing, you also align your flesh (body) to be willing also. It is a practical thing to do. It is not what God will do for you. Find out what makes your flesh weak when your spirit is willing to pray and deal with it. For the disciples, it was fatigue. They had had a busy day and fatigue stepped in. If you have a busy daily schedule, you need fix your prayer times when you are not tired. It is better you spend time in prayer before your daily activities begin. Wake up hours before your usual wake-up time and spend time in prayer. If you must pray at night, then make times of rest during the day. Also, don’t pray kneeling beside your bed. You will definitely sleep off. Instead, walk around while praying. Don’t go cooking when you are fasting; delegate that duty or cook ahead of time. Don’t give your body room to be weak and deter your prayer.

In our September fasting and prayer program, do whatever it takes to align your flesh for effective prayer.
Matthew 26:36-46

Healed of emotional pain
I attended a service with a burden in my heart which was as though a stone was placed in my heart. During the service, Daddy mentioned my case and I came out. He laid hands on me and I felt something leave me. Since that day, the emotional burden ended. Hallelujah!
