“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

In Matthew 7:8, Jesus said “whoever seeks shall find…” However our opening scripture lets us know that is not enough to seek but to seek ‘diligently’. To better understand this, Jesus told a story in Luke 15:8, “Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?” Notice that it was the diligence in the search of the woman that made her find. She was so diligent that she lit a candle and swept the house just because she was looking for something. She did not stop seeking until she found it. Beloved, how diligent are you? It is only those who diligently seek God that get a reward, not those who seek only when they have problem or when they feel like it. No!

Your diligence in seeking God is shown by your choices and your actions. If you spend more time and money on things of the flesh than on things of the spirit, you are not even a seeker. If you wake up very early from Monday to Friday to go to work on time but on Sunday you go to church late, you are not a seeker. If you can talk about politics and sports but you can’t talk about Jesus and your church, you are not a seeker. If you can spend hours talking with friends but you can’t spend time alone with God every day, you are not a seeker. These things are practiced. You are not a diligent seeker by confession but by action. This word is coming to you today to re-examine yourself. Who has the priority in your life? God or the world? What will it profit you to gain the whole world at the expense of your soul? Let go of whoever or whatever is stopping you from seeking God diligently. Remember that the earth is the Lord’s and everything in it. When you find God, you get everything you think you need in life. Seek God diligently!
Psalm 63

Deliverance from death
I want to thank God for delivering my brother from death. I was in service one Tuesday when my sister called me from home and said that my brother had been rounded up by a mob and they were about to set him on fire, for an offence he did not commit but was set up. I ran to the altar and lay, calling on the God of Pastor Larry to save my brother. God answered my prayer. I am standing to testify that before they could kill my brother, God used a man who intervened and handed him over to some policemen. At the station, they examined the case and evidences available and they declared my brother free of any wrongdoings. I thank God for deliverance. Praise God!
