“And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:” Genesis 4:4
Beloved, know that you cannot give any offering you like as Firstfruit. That was the difference between Cain’s offering and Abel’s offering. Cain grew to be a farmer while Abel reared sheep. “And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:” (Genesis 4:3-4). Cain gave whatever he wanted but Abel made sure he gave the FIRSTLINGS; which were the Firstfruit of his flock, and so God accepted his Firstfruit offering. Why did God accept Abel’s offering? It was because being the first time the Bible records that they came to give God offering, Abel made sure he give the first and the best exactly as it is. We are in a new season marked by a New Year. It is time to offer unto God the First and the best and not just anything we feel like; God respects Firstfruit.
Beloved, God knows exactly how much your Firstfruit is and He wants that exact amount when you want to give it. Remember, God does not need it for anything. It is for your own good, to activate the blessing on your life. In case you have used your Firstfruit, you still have a chance to redeem yourself. When Cain got angry, see what God said to him, “If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted?” (Vs 7). This means he still had an opportunity to redeem himself. God told him to do well so he will be accepted. Instead of going back to get the Firstfruit, he decided to kill his brother. So sad. Beloved, you know what your Firstfruit is worth. You can still pay it today or during the next service. Remember that God knows. He just wants to see your heart and how much you love and value His input in your life, so He can bless you.
In doing this, don’t forget that giving your Firstfruit is a sign to God that you are ready for His blessings in your life this year.
When it was time for me to put to bed, there were complications. The gynecologist told me I can only put to bed through CS. We didn’t have money for it so I prayed to God. I told the nurses that I believed I would put to bed normally. They got impatient with me and asked me to go to another hospital. I asked my husband to get the oil of gladness. He did. I sprinkled in my mouth and rubbed the rest on my tummy. Immediately, I felt the baby moving and called the nurses. Before they came, the baby was out already. Praise God.
