And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen. Genesis 22:14
We are in the month of January, the month seen by many around the world as a very tough and dry month. This is because many squander their resources in December and then the demands of the New Year and set in. There are fees to be paid, bills and rents to be renewed, and so on. Those who didn’t plan ahead fall into despair praying for January to speedily give way to February; at least by then January salary has come for paid workers and sales would have been made for business men. Even when the money comes, you are still required to give it all to God as Firstfruit. So you see that many are in a fix.
Father Abraham was in such a fix. God required a sacrifice and the only one present at the time was his son whom he loved with his life. But as he was going to kill him, God stopped him, made promises to him and showed him a ram caught in its horns on the mountain. Ask yourself, ‘what was a ram doing climbing a mountain? Did it not see the thicket before getting trapped?’ It was God who made the provision. Such things happen when Jehovah Jireh is at work. So beloved, in this month of scarcity, JehovaJireh will make provisions for you as you hold on and believe in Him.
In doing this, don’t forget that giving your Firstfruit is a sign to God that you are ready for His blessings in your life this year.
My mum and I always listen to Daddy preach on the radio but we never bothered coming to church until one woman from our village came one day and testified of what God has done for her through this commission so we decided to come to the church. My family has been struggling and it seemed nobody was remembering us to bless us. The day we came, daddy anointed us for favour. The next day, a neighbour of ours visited us and he favored us and told us to ask anything of him anytime we are in need. Since then, it has been favour upon favour, credit alert upon alert. Praise God!
