“And he said, who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid, for thou art a near kinsman.” Ruth 3:9
A blessed day to you beloved. Today we will look at Jesus Christ, our kinsman redeemer so that we might be able to grasp what He wrought for us through His death and resurrection. From our memory verse, you see Ruth running to Boaz and asking him to literally take ownership of her. She called herself “thine handmaid”. She told him that she was his and he should spread his skirt over her or in other words; protect her, take ownership of her, marry her. The significance of this her act will elude you as likewise Jesus’ death and resurrection unless you understand the oriental law of kinship.
Who is a kinsman redeemer? And how is Jesus our redeemer? The law of kinsman redeemer consists of different duties and obligation which include marrying your dead brother’s widow, giving your dead brother’s widow sons to make sure his legacy lives on. This is where Ruth held Boaz at; the Levirate marriage. Jesus performed another duty unto us. It is the obligation of the kinsman redeemer to buy back any property which was sold, and to also buy back any “living” brother, if his brother had sold himself into slavery. Jesus Christ the first amongst many brethren came to redeem us from dead works, and the bondage of the evil bondsman Satan by his precious blood. He is our kinsman redeemer, our Boaz, who came to own us, to protect us, to marry us, to exchange our shame, poverty and death for His glory, wealth, and life in abundance. This is the true story of Easter. The story of love; of a man willing to give his life in exchange that we might have life. This is why God hath highly exalted Him because He chose to give up His own inheritance so that He could give us a chance of a brand new life. There is always an exchange when there is redemption. Boaz took his brother’s widow and inheritance and Ruth gained his wealth. In the same vein, Jesus took our sickness, sorrows, shame and we gained his glory, life and every good and perfect blessing. Hallelujah!
Free from sickness
During a service, daddy anointed us and told us to lay our hands on our head and declare that whatever sickness tormenting us should cease. I prayed and that was the end of a sickness in my body that had defied medical treatment. I am hale and hearty now. I thank God for that deliverance.
[Spend some time and worship God. Thank Him for all He has done.]
1. My heart is full oh Lord, thank You for redeeming me. I am redeemed! Hallelujah
2. I command this month to open up to me with good things in Jesus name.
3. I decree fruitfulness in my life and the works of my hands this month in Jesus name.
4. Every plan of destruction against me or anyone in my family, I destroy it now. Let the planners be exposed and put to shame in Jesus name.
5. I decree, positive prophecies made over my life and family shall be fulfilled this month. No more delays in Jesus name.
