“Now the just shall live by faith but if any man drawback, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.” Hebrews 10:38
Today we will begin a series on some joy killers in our lives. When you get saved, there’s a joy you automatically have that you cannot explain. This is as a result of the coming of the Holy Spirit into your life. His entrance brings joy among other things. But have you notice that soon after, if care is not taken, the enemy comes to steal the joy away from you with the storms of life, and this is where the parable of the sower is applicable, when birds of the air picked the seeds.
Doubt is a joy killer. It is not a good spirit to dwell in a believer. Once the storms of life come and you doubt God’s ability to save and deliver you, defeat will set in. Anybody who has doubt lives a joyless life. Joy comes by truly believing in your God and His ability to save you. The book of James makes us understand that a double-minded man (a man who oscillates between two opinions of ‘will God will save me?’ or ‘can God save me?’) cannot receive anything from God. This is because it takes walking in faith in the promises of God for your life to encounter change and breakthrough.
Beloved, are you walking in faith? Are you persevering, doing what you should even if you have not gotten your desired results? Living in doubt instead of walking and living in faith will dry your joy. You will be a defeated, fearful Christian who can’t seem to get ahead in life. Faith and joy live together and not apart. Your faith in what God can do will awaken any dead joy in your heart. Jack up your faith now and begin to move in that spirit, doubting nothing.
Mark 11:13-27, James 1:5-8
During a service, daddy gave me a word that my son would get a job. My son has sought for job for a long time but all his efforts proved abortive. After the declaration by the man of God, in December, my son called me and said he had gotten a job. Praise God!
