Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. I Peter 5:7

I remember several years ago when I was much younger and the blessings of God hadn’t become tangible in my life. There was this man who lived in Worldbank housing estate in Owerri and always carried some of us who were going the same route in his pickup van. We would wait at a particular junction in the evening until he came. One day, a market woman joined us. She entered the pickup van and surprisingly, she still carried her basket on her head. I asked her why. She said the driver may charge her extra for keeping the load down in the van. I made her know that the price that covered her also covered whatever she was carrying. She asked if I was sure of what I was saying. I convinced her and helped her bring her basket down. From that day, anytime she joined us, she would keep her basket down and enjoy the ride home. Many believers today behave like that woman. They are in Christ but still carry their problems on their head. This is wrong. The same salvation that you got covers everything about you. Jesus said in Matthew 11:27, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Whatever load you carried before, now that you are in Christ, let Jesus carry the load for you.

“Casting” means throwing something on somebody and leaving it. So when we are told to cast our cares on Jesus, it means we should drop all our problems at His feet and leave them there. The problem with believers today is that they tell God their problems and when they leave, they carry the problems. They ask God to help them and they also ask men to help them. They look up to God for solution and still try some other places, whether good or bad. If you are among these, you have not learnt to cast your cares upon Jesus. That is the reason why that problem has lingered in your life. You need to get to a point in your life when you have total confidence in God’s ability to handle your problems and provide your needs. Then you can pray to Him and believe He will answer you. When you truly cast your care upon Him, your heart will be filled with joy and it will hasten the answer you seek.
Matthew 11:28-31, 1 Peter 5:1-9

Healed of strange cough
Two days after I came back from Abuja to see my mother, I suddenly started coughing. My mum rushed and got her blood of Jesus and gave me. I took it and it stopped. The following day, it reoccurred. My mum took me to see a nurse who gave me drugs. I took the drugs but none worked. She changed drugs for me but it continued. One night, I took my mother’s blood of Jesus and declared that if it worked for me before, it would work again, and I took it. From then till now, I have not coughed. Praise God.

[Spend some time and worship God. Thank Him for all He has done.]
1. Father, I cast all my cares upon You today for I know You will take care of me, in Jesus name.
2. [Begin to mention all the things bothering you that you want God to take care of]
3. Every evil spoken word against me, I erase it now in Jesus name. Any projection of hatred against me, catch fire now in Jesus name.
4. Whoever blew powder into the air and made invocation against me, let it return back to the sender now in Jesus name
5. I speak overwhelming joy into every area of my life and family in Jesus name.

[Raise other prayer points as you are led]
