“Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right” Proverbs 16:13
Beloved, a wholesome tongue will always give you favour with the Lord, Angels and man. Many believers still need to learn to control their tongues. James describes the tongue like the rudder of a ship; small but mighty, small and seemingly insignificant but wielding great power to stir the whole course of a man’s existence towards Heaven or hell, life or death. The wise man said in Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” I Peter 3:10 also says, “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:”
But you see now, how many believers have learnt to bridle their tongue? How many believers speak words that add life and not death? The bible says our word should be seasoned with salt, for we are the light of the world and it is in us to bring good to this world. You need to stop gossiping, slandering and such evil vices that chase the spirit of God away from a child of God. Those acts of the tongue quench the spirit of God. When heaven and earth identify you as a gossip, a complainer, a mummurer, a slanderer and someone who never has something healthy, positive and wholesome to speak about people or situation, you carry a negative label in the spirit. This label will attract disfavour, death, hatred, disappointment and every other dissatisfaction to your life.
Ask the Lord to sanctify your heart and your tongue, so that your words and this life will be wholesome, and so you may obtain favour this month.
Proverbs 10:17-22, 18:22
Saved from death
One Sunday morning, my mum was contemplating whether to go to church or not. She eventually did. During the ministration, daddy gave her a prophecy that her daughter’s picture had been taken to a coven and projections of death were made against her. The daughter was me. Daddy prayed for her and she sowed a seed and sealed it with Isaiah 7:7. That same night, I was attacked. I felt someone I couldn’t see choking my life out of me. I shouted the ‘blood of Jesus’ and it stopped. I don’t know what would have happened if my mother was not in church that morning. I return all the glory to God. Hallelujah!
