OVERWHELMING JOY

“Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice.” Philippians 4:4

Welcome to our month of overwhelming joy. The English dictionary defines Joy as a feeling of extreme happiness or cheerfulness, especially related to the acquisition or expectation of something good. Beloved, this is not the joy we are talking about. We speak of a joy that is beyond carnal things, a joy that is constant even in the time of trials and storms; a joy that is beyond happiness and any other state of wellness. We speak of the joy that only God can give you. Mind you, when Apostle Paul instructed the Philippians to rejoice in the Lord, he was under incarceration in Rome but notice that his state of imprisonment didn’t remove his cheerfulness and hope from him. He took it that all things were working out for his good.

This month and always, God wants you to live in Joy so overwhelming that its intensity and strength makes you stagger under it. To be overwhelmed is to fall under an irresistible power, to be unable to bear a thing. This is the kind of joy that God wants you to experience. So that in whatever state you find yourself, your heart is constantly cheerful and your spirit is upheld in hope and faith in a loving Father. This is the joy that destroys doubt, depression, anxiety, worry, fear and the likes. The Joy that springs from the knowing that God is on your side and come what may, all will be well with you. This is the joy that the martyr Stephen had even when he was being stoned to death. You have a greater hope, rejoice!

PRAISE REPORT
<Fruit of the womb>
I want to thank God for His blessings in my family. During a service last year, daddy gave a word about someone whose daughter-in-law hadn’t had a baby since 2013. I received the prayer on her behalf. Few weeks later, she took in, carried the pregnancy without problem and gave me a grandchild in December. Praise God!
– Anozie I.
