THE GOSPEL WE PREACH

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life…that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, 1 John 1:1-3

The phrases underlined in our opening scripture show us that the person preaching the gospel should be a first partaker of the gospel. Beloved, before you can confidently preach the gospel of Jesus, you need to be a partaker of the benefits of the gospel. You can’t tell someone to get saved when you are yet to receive salvation. Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:27, “But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” This means that even after you are saved, if you keep living carelessly, you will miss heaven. Woe unto those who miss the rapture. It will be terrible for them. Therefore, I urge you to receive salvation if you are yet to; or rededicate your life to Christ if you have gone astray and commit yourself to living holy and righteous. “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.” (I Corinthians 10:12).

The gospel we preach is found in John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” Whatever is outside this is not the gospel. Out of love, God sent His son to die to save you and me. Our responsibility is to only believe and we become born into a new life of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. Don’t go about condemning people. They are already fed up with the life they are living but because they are entangled, they need to be told that there is a way out. That solution is what the gospel presents. Tell them that Jesus loves them no matter how deep in sin they are, and can change them if they are truly repentant and willing to be changed. It is not by their works but by the grace made available by the finished work of Jesus on the cross.

PRAISE REPORT
Building project completed
My building project which I started in 2010 was stagnated till 2017. My resources dried up and all efforts to complete it proved abortive. I started coming to church here and heard testimonies from people who used the oil and blood. I got them, went to the site of the building and sprinkled them. To the glory of God, long story short, I am now a landlord. Praise God!
