And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar. In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee. 1 Kings 3:4-5
There is what is called the provoked blessing. This is the blessing you get when you give out of inconvenience. It may be the last you have, it may be something not easy for you to part with, but when you give it to God, it provokes a level of blessings that ordinary believers don’t enjoy. When King Solomon offered a thousand burnt offering on the altar, God was moved. He had to come down to Solomon to ask what he wanted Him to do for Him. God gave Solomon an open cheque to request whatever he wanted. There is something you will give to God that will provoke blessings upon your life, and cause blessings that are reserved for years to come to you in months and weeks.
Don’t think it is easy to give in such a way as to provoke blessing. It is not. God demands your FIRSTFRUIT and then your TITHES in a time when there are bills to pay; rent, school fees, electricity bills, feeding, and so on. God is not a wicked God. That is the only way you can activate ‘the provoked blessing’; when it inconveniences you. Before Isaac could release the blessing on his son, he asked for venison in order to provoke the blessing. Before God could bless Abraham more, He asked for a sacrifice of his only son, in order to provoke that blessing.
If you want to remain in the level of ‘not enough’ or ‘just enough’, then hold on to your Firstfruit and tithes but if you want to experience ‘more than enough’, then you have no option than to release them as and at when due. Only then can you hold God by His word and command the provoked blessing on your life.

I was listening to daddy over the radio one night when he mentioned my name and declared financial blessings on me. I received the prayer. Few days later, God provided all the money I needed for the business I intended going into which I couldn’t because of lack of money. To God be all the glory.
