My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. Proverbs 4:20-21
You cannot know what the will of God for you is if you are not an ardent studier of the Word. When you have the Word in your Spirit, it is easier to weigh any instruction against that Word. When a situation comes up, then your spirit will bring up the appropriate Word to deal with it. When Jesus was tempted, it was the Word He had stored up in Him that he brought up to overcome the tempter. Most times, temptations and attacks come so suddenly that there is no time to pick up the bible and quote. At such moments, it is the Word in you that will prevail. The less the Word, the less the victory and the more the word, the more the victory
The benefits of storing the word in your Spirit are numerous. In verse 22 of Proverbs 4, it says, “For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” The Word in you gives you life, heals you of sickness and sustains your health. You are sickly because you lack the Word in you. “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalms 119:11). You are still struggling with sin and bad habits because you don’t have the Word in you. It was so important that God had to tell Joshua, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Joshua 1:8). Your good success is a product of the Word in you. When you meditate on the Word day and night, and observe what is written and do them, only then will this month truly be a month of fulfillment of prophecy to you.
How do you put the Word in you? Apostle Paul showed us how in 2 Timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Decide for yourself how many chapters of the Bible you will study each day, memorize at least one verse each day, get scriptures on a particular topic and study the. Also decide how many inspirational books you will study each week and keep to it. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom…” (Colossians 3:16)
I have a furniture shop where I work. Things were so hard that in a month, I made less than N5000. It got to the extent that I hardly ate. I came for one Tuesday service and papa declared financial favour on us. Since then, customers come to my shop like never before. Praise God!
[Spend some time and worship God. Thank Him for all He has done.]
1. Lord, may Your Word richly dwell in me. Let the hunger for Your Word burn like fire in my bones in Jesus name.
2. Every infirmity of the spirit in my life, be healed now in Jesus name.
3. I release the Word like hammer to shatter every satanic stronghold against my prosperity in Jesus name.
4. Every negative door the enemy has opened for me to walk into, I shut it now in Jesus name.
5. I decree, positive prophecies made over my life and family shall be fulfilled this month. No more delays in Jesus name.
