And the Lord said, “Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? “ Luke 12:42
What you have is not yours. It was given to you by your Heavenly Father for safekeeping. A story is told in the book of Matthew 25:16 of a master that gave his servants talents before traveling. When he eventually came back, he called them to give account of what he had given to them. This goes to show that what they had were not theirs but their master’s. It was not for them to use anyhow they wanted but as stewards, they were to give account of what they were given. There was also a man in Luke 12 known as ‘the rich fool’. “The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?” (Luke 12:16-20). He didn’t have a steward’s mentality, so he lost both his life and his possession.
When you have a steward’s mentality, you will know that the job, business, or helpers you have were given to you by God and not by your own power. Some people are more qualified than you but they are still jobless and penniless. Again, what you have is not your own but God’s. You are just a caretaker. With this mentality, nothing will be too big to give God. Whenever God makes a demand on what He has given, it will not be difficult for you to give it. This month, God demands your Firstfruit and then your tithes. The money you have came from Him but instead of asking for all, He asks for just the first part as Firstfruit while you enjoy the rest part, and ten percent as tithe while you enjoy the remaining ninety percent of the blessing that came from Him. Isn’t God a merciful God? Why will it be difficult for you to give God His part? I Corinthians 4:2 says, “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” Only then will you get the rewards of faithful stewardship; much more blessings.

Healed of ulcer
I suffered from ulcer that caused me serious pains. During the 30 days of total victory last September, I wanted to join the fast but I was afraid of the ulcer. I decided to join by faith and kept taking the blood of Jesus. To the glory of God, the ulcer did not surface and I have not felt the pains since then. Praise God!
