“Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour;” 1 Peter 5:8
Beloved, read the memory verse again. It says the devil ‘as a’ not ‘a’ roaring lion. Also notice that he is walking about ‘seeking’, meaning that he is not looking for a definite prey, but someone who can be cajoled and frightened by his roaring, deceived that he is powerful and to be feared. Alas, the devil is a liar! You have authority, power and dominion over the devil and his evil works. He lost his power when Jesus defeated him and gave you the victory. Your battle has been fought and won. The only battle left to fight now is the battle of faith and that’s why the devil roars like a lion. He wants to intimidate you and make you fearful. Remember that fear cancels out faith. Beloved, you are to fight the good fight of faith. You’ve got to know what Jesus did for you and your new benefits in Him and you’ve got to declare it and stand on it by faith.
You see, we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers, but Hallelujah to the lamb for they’ve all been defeated. Jesus defeated them on your behalf and thus you’ve conquered them. Now you just have to exert your authority over them. But how do you show authority? It’s in His words. You have to speak the word of your redemption, standing upon them by faith. The devil keeps challenging the authority of believers. He knows he’s been defeated but he scores on you when you are ignorant. You have to act on the ground of your victory. You are a conqueror and the devil is under your feet. Luke 10:19 says, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Psalms 105:15 also says, “Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.” Beloved, you have power with God. Begin to use your authority in Christ Jesus. Call His name and see it work wonders on your behalf.

Healed by the oil
My Mother got critically ill to the extent that her stomach was swollen. The doctor handling her case said she needed to undergo surgical operation. Before going to visit her, I got the oil of gladness. When I got to the hospital, I sprinkled the oil on her and prayed for her. The following day, she called me on phone and told me that she was no longer going for the surgery and she was hale and hearty. I was surprised at how fast the oil of gladness worked. Let God be glorified.
